Spectators are warmly invited to come along to Chiddingstone Sports Ground from 1pm, enjoy an afternoon of rugby and support the silent auction, raising funds for children’s bereavement charity, Jigsaw South East, and children`s rugby charity, Wooden Spoon. After months of preparation, our wonderful Choristers’ Choir proudly represented Holmewood House at the second IAPS Festival of Singing, a celebration of the fantastic singing taking place across Kent prep schools.
Our 50 pupils did an incredible job leading the singing of Handel’s Zadok the Priest - a huge achievement, as only two schools at the festival took on this challenging piece from the cathedral choral repertoire.
We were also thrilled to be joined by our brilliant male staff choir, who sang the bass line with great aplomb. Thanks to Mr Parker, Mr Murray, Mr Gurran, Mr Follet, Mr Wukics, Mr Unwin and Mr Carter for their wonderful support and care throughout the day.
The choir also wowed the audience with Mrs Carter’s own unaccompanied arrangement of Camptown Races, a performance that truly impressed fellow schools and guests alike.
Singing in a cathedral was a privilege our children will remember forever…thank you to @iapsuk and @rochestercathedral. We can’t wait for the next festival in two years’ time.

TESTIMONIALS WHAT OUR STUDENTS & PARENTS HAVE TO SAY
Parent
Just wanted to express our thanks for this term. What a year! We’ve been utterly impressed by HH’s approach and care. We feel very grateful to be at this school and for the wonderful start in life it has given our children.
Prospective Parent
We both through that the school was superb – in fact as we were driving off of the property, we remarked that it was faultless across the board. We both feel that our children would thrive at Holmewood.
Pupil
“Thank you for your ongoing efforts in making Holmewood such a safe and nurturing place to grow, take risks, make mistakes and be curious, where the children are well known by their teachers and your team to help them navigate their course to growing confidence, leadership and empathy for helping others”.
Parent
“Our son ia a typical boy – great at maths, loves sports, hates writing!! But one of the teachers spotted that it was more than this … he was assessed and has dyslexia. Contrary to what many people may think, both we and the school see this positively – with the support of the Learning Support team, he now has a greater chance of reaching his true academic potential. Already, as a result of typing rather than doing handwritten work, he has discovered a new found love of creative writing and huge confidence in comprehension.”
Pupil
“I like playing in the garden and growing flowers and vegetables.”
Pupil
“The amount of opportunities we are offered is incredible and the teachers are all very helpful and friendly.”
Parent
“Communication at Holmewood is very good and they offer a number of opportunities each term for parents to attend both educational and pastoral forums.”
Pupil
“Holmewood house is a very good school which helps pupils feel at home and can adapt to suit you. I enjoy maths the most because my teacher makes you try to do things for yourself and he is very supportive.”
Parent
“I feel privileged to send my children to a school where teachers care so much and are able to work in such small class sizes.”
Age 18
I do believe that all my successes in life so far stem from my years at Holmewood. As well as providing a brilliant academic base, the nurturing from the teachers is like nothing else, and I cannot thank you enough for that.
Parent
“Holmewood offers a unique education in a safe and supportive environment for children of all ages.”
Parent
The chaperone service that Holmewood House offers has meant that our son has been able to access the best of both worlds, a country boarding school during the week where he can enjoy the space and facilities which are very hard to come by in London and then is able to come home every Friday to enjoy a full weekend with family. It is extremely convenient to be able to pick him up & drop off from central London & is workable on top of the other commitments I have! He looks forward to his trips on the train where he gets any unfinished homework done and then is able to relax at home
