Boys in Years 5–7 had the privilege of receiving specialist coaching from staff at Bede’s School, including Director of Cricket and former Sussex professional Neil Lenham, Level 3 coach Petch Lenham, and Kash Ibrahim. As part of their continued cricket development, the sessions gave pupils the chance to draw on the expertise of a highly experienced visiting coaching team. Bede’s have enjoyed notable national success this year, and the boys greatly valued learning from coaches with such a strong track record, gaining technical insight and a deeper understanding of the game. @bedesseniorschool #CricketSeason #Cricket #PrepSchoolSport #HolmewoodHouseSchool

National Boarding Week brought a packed programme of fun. From slip and slides to roller coasters, it was a week our boarders won’t forget in a hurry!
We pulled out all the stops to celebrate National Boarding Week, with a different adventure every evening:
• Monday kicked things off with a brilliant slip and slide; plenty of laughter, more than a few soakings, and the perfect way to start the week! • Tuesday saw the much-anticipated Davies Ball, our very own indoor sports game. • Wednesday was all about cheering on the Three Lions with our England World Cup watch along! The boarding house was a sea of support, and the atmosphere was electric as we roared the team on together. • Thursday brought our ever-popular Bake Off challenge, where our budding bakers showcased their creativity (and their taste-testing skills!). The results were as delicious as they were impressive.
And what better way to spend the weekend than a trip to Thorpe Park where our boarders had an absolute blast taking on the rides, from the gentle to the seriously stomach-churning.
It’s been wonderful to see so many boarders embracing the week and the sense of community that makes boarding life so special.

TESTIMONIALS WHAT OUR STUDENTS & PARENTS HAVE TO SAY
Parent
Just wanted to express our thanks for this term. What a year! We’ve been utterly impressed by HH’s approach and care. We feel very grateful to be at this school and for the wonderful start in life it has given our children.
Prospective Parent
We both through that the school was superb – in fact as we were driving off of the property, we remarked that it was faultless across the board. We both feel that our children would thrive at Holmewood.
Pupil
“Thank you for your ongoing efforts in making Holmewood such a safe and nurturing place to grow, take risks, make mistakes and be curious, where the children are well known by their teachers and your team to help them navigate their course to growing confidence, leadership and empathy for helping others”.
Parent
“Our son ia a typical boy – great at maths, loves sports, hates writing!! But one of the teachers spotted that it was more than this … he was assessed and has dyslexia. Contrary to what many people may think, both we and the school see this positively – with the support of the Learning Support team, he now has a greater chance of reaching his true academic potential. Already, as a result of typing rather than doing handwritten work, he has discovered a new found love of creative writing and huge confidence in comprehension.”
Pupil
“I like playing in the garden and growing flowers and vegetables.”
Pupil
“The amount of opportunities we are offered is incredible and the teachers are all very helpful and friendly.”
Parent
“Communication at Holmewood is very good and they offer a number of opportunities each term for parents to attend both educational and pastoral forums.”
Pupil
“Holmewood house is a very good school which helps pupils feel at home and can adapt to suit you. I enjoy maths the most because my teacher makes you try to do things for yourself and he is very supportive.”
Parent
“I feel privileged to send my children to a school where teachers care so much and are able to work in such small class sizes.”
Age 18
I do believe that all my successes in life so far stem from my years at Holmewood. As well as providing a brilliant academic base, the nurturing from the teachers is like nothing else, and I cannot thank you enough for that.
Parent
“Holmewood offers a unique education in a safe and supportive environment for children of all ages.”
Parent
The chaperone service that Holmewood House offers has meant that our son has been able to access the best of both worlds, a country boarding school during the week where he can enjoy the space and facilities which are very hard to come by in London and then is able to come home every Friday to enjoy a full weekend with family. It is extremely convenient to be able to pick him up & drop off from central London & is workable on top of the other commitments I have! He looks forward to his trips on the train where he gets any unfinished homework done and then is able to relax at home
