Holmewood House prep school in Tunbridge Wells is very much a family school where the positive relationships between the teachers and pupils allows us to get to know and understand the individual needs of each and every child.
We foster their talents and nurture their growth through a broad, balanced, challenging and exciting curriculum and, in doing so, create an environment whereby each child is provided with every opportunity to fulfil their potential. Holmewood House is a co-educational, non-selective school for boys and girls aged 3-13 years, situated in 30 acres of glorious grounds in Tunbridge Wells.
The wonderful environment and outstanding facilities provide a strong framework upon which the ethos of ‘allowing children to be children can be achieved.

IAPS Judo Championships 🥋 Amazing results for our Holmewood boys at the IAPS Judo Championships! 🥇Luca of Year 4 won all his contests in a tough group of boys to win Gold and he was also presented with Top Judo Player award by the organisers, as in his final contest he pulled a dazzling throw out of the bag. 🥇Dylan of Year 4 won all three contests to win Gold in his group. 🥈Both Charles P of Year 3 and James H of Year 6 won Silver Medals with great displays of tenacity and determination from each of them. 🥉 William R of Year 4 won a well deserved Bronze Medal. Coach Victor said "all of the pupils were absolutely tremendous in their efforts, displaying skills, determination and sportsmanship. Holmewood House Summer Courses and Play Scheme (Monday 13th July - Friday 21st August) Our holiday courses and Play Scheme are back by popular demand, making the most of our 32 acres and fantastic facilities including: 🔴 a magnificent sports hall 🟢 25m indoor swimming pool 🟡 Jubilee Theatre 🔵 all-weather Astro 🟣 climbing Wall 🟢 fully equipped art, DT and IT rooms This Summer we are offering many varied and fun-filled courses including new options such as archery, fencing, remote control car racing and a brilliant new golf simulator to get the perfect swing. These run alongside a vast array of creative and active choices ranging from 3D printing to forest school to football. Course ages range from 5+ and are run by experienced, enthusiastic staff and assistants who are all suitably qualified and DBS checked. The fun and laughter the children shared on stage truly shone through, with beaming smiles and growing confidence throughout each performance. The Swim School holds classes for children of all abilities and is open to Holmewood pupils as well as the wider community and takes places after the Holmewood school day has finished and on a Saturday morning.
Holmewood House School has been running holiday courses since 1998. We aim to offer a wide variety of courses for children aged 5-12 in a secure and relaxed environment.

The chaperone service that Holmewood House offers has meant that our son has been able to access the best of both worlds, a country boarding school during the week where he can enjoy the space and facilities which are very hard to come by in London and then is able to come home every Friday to enjoy a full weekend with family. It is extremely convenient to be able to pick him up & drop off from central London & is workable on top of the other commitments I have! He looks forward to his trips on the train where he gets any unfinished homework done and then is able to relax at home
