How lovely it has been to be in touch with Simon Mendoza – Ash House and old Holmewoodian and indeed father of Anna (Year 5) and Ellie (Year 3). After Tonbridge, he got his Computer Science degree at Cambridge and then joined his family’s software business – where he still is today as Chief Technology Officer.
Simon also has a brother Luke and two sisters Carla and Gina who are all Old Holmewoodians. Gina and Carla are both married with two children each and still live locally. Gina studied business at UWE and then went to Australia for a year to learn to sail, before crewing yachts around the mediterranean for many years with her now husband, before settling near Cranbrook to raise their kids.
Carla got a masters in Chemistry at Bristol before working for Accenture and then the family business until she had her kids a few years ago. She and her husband now run aninnovative ‘content creation’ studio in London focused on the hair & beauty market.
Simon sent me news of Luke’s wedding over the Summer, as it coincided with our Year 5 studies in TPR. Anna did a wonderful presentation to the class about the traditions of Jewish weddings – you can see more about this on the Year 5 news page. Lovely to be in touch, Simon! Paul Morgan-Jones
Help at Home, Babysitting and General Childcare
My name is Agnes Ringer. I’m a former student of Holmewood House School, currently on my gap year and looking for part-time work between September and November. I joined Holmewood in Reception and thrived during my time there, staying up until year 8 before moving on to Hurstpierpoint College in West Sussex.
I have a strong passion for working with children and frequently look after family friends’ children, as well as my younger cousins. Additionally, I gained valuable experience at Hurst supporting younger year groups in my roles as both a house prefect and a school prefect. I would be more than happy to help parents out from doing school picks up to babysitting in the evenings.
Although I live slightly outside of Tunbridge Wells, near Wadhurst, I am able to drive and would be happy to work in and around this area. If you have any questions, please feel free to get in touch.
