World Book Day….
Book week brought about lots of opportunity for sharing favourite stories, looking at books independently and listening to well-known takes. We followed “The runaway pancake” and made our own delicious pancakes to enjoy at snack time. The children were able to respond well to instructions as they weighed, poured, mixed and flipped the mixture. We discussed the importance of a healthy and balanced diet, making sure to have fruit salad alongside our tasty treat. The Nursery was full of joy and excitement as the little ones skipped through the door in their costumes, and we had a super time guessing their characters.
Life skills…
Throughout the term we have been introducing a life skill each week to support the children’s independence and build self-confidence when completing tasks. So far we have explored safety around cooking and how to dress for specialist lessons such as forest school and ballet. Next week we will be focusing on cutlery skills, using child friendly knives to cut our snack, before moving on to oral health, looking at the steps for brushing our teeth. Lastly we will find out how to effectively wash and dry ourselves using role-play babies and bathtubs.

Parent consultations- Monday 10th March- Thank you to the families who have already attended parents consultations it has been wonderful sharing your children’s achievements and next steps. We look forward to welcoming more Pre- Nursery and Nursery parents to their consultations this evening.
Jaws “n” Claws– Thursday 13th March (In school) – We are delighted to host the annual Jaws ‘n’ Claws event in Nursery and Pre-Nursery. We will have a variety of animals in school for the children to learn about and experience. Children not normally in on this day, may swap their days or come in for an extra morning session. Please inform your child’s teacher.
