News from the Nursery
We welcome you to try our pumpkin soup however you might just find some paint, grass, and sand thrown in the mix too so approach with caution! The children developed their gross motor skills as they mixed, scooped, and poured the ingredients into a range of containers, using language such as “full, half full and empty” when filling up the jugs. Nursery introduced the word “hibernate” and talked about some of the animals that go to sleep at this time of the year. One of the children told us that hedgehogs go to bed for the Winter which inspired fork printing to create the spines. Pre- Nursery used their senses to explore a selection of vegetables such as squash, aubergine, peppers, and pumpkins, they spotted a gnome in the fairy garden, and also enjoyed decorating a colourful tissue paper wreath. To round up a truly Autumnal week, we used a collection of treasures to design headbands for the Harvest festival.
Thank you to our eco warriors Arthur and Alfie this week. Great job boys!
Moving on from the land before time, we now embark on our woodland adventures, following the stories of Percy the park keeper and his woodland animal crew. Our grounds host several areas of natural beauty and first up is a visit to the ravine where we hope to see babbling brooks, magical pathways and trip trap bridges.
