News from the Nursery
“Oh help, oh no! It’s a Gruffalo…
Characters were made in abundance as the children brought to life one of their favourite books, choosing to paint either a mouse, fox, owl, or snake. If you managed to have a peek through the Nursery doors, you would have seen us making oaty Gruffalo crumble, shaving foam owl ice cream, and searching for dusty footprints, let’s just say the cleaners could see we had a great week! Along the same theme of woodlands, we branched off into smaller groups to play an animal sorting game, thinking about which lived on land and in water. As the ravine was a little too boggy, we jollied around the grounds instead, looking out for rabbit burrows, mole hills and badger sets, we even thought we might have spotted a deer in the distance. We have also been talking about the Harvest festival and how we can help people who are less fortunate that ourselves, and the children have been coming up with kind ways we can look after others in need. To celebrate we chose a song to learn and join in with the actions to.
