Why Holmewood?

It is always wonderful to receive such glowing observations about our school from parents and visitors, many of whom comment on the ‘magical feel’, ‘the gloriously happy and confident children’ and ‘the fantastic relationships between the teachers and pupils’, all of which play an enormous role in providing an enriching learning experience for the children in our care. It is re-affirming to receive such ringing endorsements and testament to the amazing work of my colleagues and pupils in making Holmewood House the very special place it is.

Tatler Schools Guide 2020

A recent visitor to this Kentish school set across 32 acres of parkland noted its ‘special vibe’.’ Students love Head of Art Tom Johnson’s lessons, while Director of Studies and Head of Boarding Kevin O’Riordan ‘always supports you’. Girls’ cricket and country walks club are popular, and wellbeing programmes have been rolled out for all years – as ‘it’s the foundation of all learning’. Fulfilled leavers move on to the likes of Tonbridge, Benenden and Wellington with a healthy haul of scholarships.

An exciting educational community where people come first.

Energy, creativity and a genuine love of learning.

Thanks to the buzz of self-assured and kind pupils, the general feel is one of energy, creativity and a genuine love of learning.

The pupils are confident and engaged learners who respond with enthusiasm to the teachers’ high level of expertise, which enables them to develop their skills to an advanced level and those with a particular talent to excel.
